The Heckler is all about getting out into new terrain and maximising your time there by allowing you to go further and higher than ever before. It’s built not to make things easy, but to make far flung and remote rides possible and ultimately, more enjoyable.
The newly released Heckler comes fitted with the biggest battery Santa Cruz have on offer, at a whopping 720wh, which is removable with a 4mm allen key for easy battery swaps on long rides or charging off the bike. It’s built around Shimano’s latest EP801 motor which is smaller and lighter than its predecessor and packs a bigger punch with 85Nm of torque on tap. In short, the Heckler is well equipped for bigger, longer days.
The Heckler can be specced with a choice of 29” wheels or MX (29”/27.5”) and comes with 150mm of rear travel paired with a slightly longer 160mm fork up front. The MX option is the way to go if you’re looking for quicker cornering and snappy playful handling - this is what we believe works best for riding e-bikes on the Golfie’s steepest, tightest trails. If stability when riding flat out on faster trails is your priority, or you’re a much taller rider, 29” wheels could well be the way to go. Now with coil compatibility and the addition of a flip chip, the Heckler can be set up perfectly for any rider, on any trail.
Note that Small frames are specced with 27.5” wheels.
Santa Cruz’s Di2 bar keeps all the cabling for the mode selector buttons and display hidden away in the bar, keeping the cockpit clean and tidy while minimising the risk of cable damage.
Rounding off the package is Santa Cruz’s legendary build quality and rider support, making the Heckler a formidable partner in crime for all day epics, or power hours after work.

From Riding to Retail
Our business began as Dirt School in 2006, a mountain bike coaching company set up to deliver the best learning and support a mountain biker could ever want. From World championship wins to the award winning BASE college course, we've experienced and forged it all. Our evolution led to the formation of Tweed Valley Guides and now Tweed Valley Bikes too, allowing us to help you buy the right equipment, and be able to ride with you on the best trails and help you learn how to get the most out of it. Our shop has genuinely grown from the trail.
