Introducing the Nukeproof Megawatt...
An E-MTB has been noticeably missing from Nukeproof’s range for a while now, but this one has certainly been worth the wait. Time taken to get this just right, ensuring the product and product support is where it needs to be, Nukeproof have partnered with Shimano to bring the Megawatt to the market, and we think it’s got to be one of the best e-bikes on offer.
The Megawatt shares the same Enduro World Series race winning geometry as the Nukeproof Mega, this new bike comes built up with an all new mixed wheel size platform - the perfect set up for riding e-mtb in the Tweed Valley. The 29” wheels upfront let you float over the bumps and carry speed with ease, whilst the smaller 27.5” wheel on the rear lets the bike run a shorter chainstay making the Megawatt super easy to squeeze around the steep tight turns of the Golfie trails. The Megawatt will be on offer across the full size range, from small to XXL and comes optimised with steeper seat angles on the larger frame sizes to keep your riding position as comfortable and efficient as possible on the climbs too.
Shimano are at the leading edge when it comes to technology and we’re pleased to see the Megawatt is fitted with the Shimano Steps EP8 motor system, one which we’re very familiar with at Tweed Valley Bikes and rate highly, remaining reassured that on the odd chance a problem does occur, Shimano have the support in place to make sure riders are well looked after.
With 170mm travel front and rear, the Megawatt is designed to tackle the most challenging terrain out there and maximise your descending time by getting you back to the top faster than ever before.
If this sounds like just the bike you’re looking for, get in touch with us now to pre-order one, stock is limited this year and we don’t think these will hang around for long!

From World championship wins to the award winning BASE college course, we've experienced and forged it all. Our evolution led to the formation of Tweed Valley Guides and now Tweed Valley Bikes too, allowing us to help you buy the right equipment, and be able to ride with you on the best trails and help you learn how to get the most out of it. Our shop has genuinely grown from the trail.
