Bike Check: Matt's favourite - Santa Cruz Heckler eMTB

Today we share with you Tweed Valley Bike's Retail Manager, Matthew’s favourite eMTB. Matthew has ridden a lot of e-bikes since they first started appearing on the market a few years back, but the Santa Cruz Heckler blew him away. 

Back in his youth, Matthew used to race downhill; when he rides this bike he’s instantly reminded of the fun he had in those days. With the motor assistance removing the tiring uphills and allowing you to do more laps of the descents, it’s like another version of an uplift service. You can put in as much or as little effort as you choose between Eco, Trail or Boost modes. 

Taking inspiration from the popular Santa Cruz Bronson, the Heckler combines all of the things riders love about Santa Cruz. Combining a Carbon frameset, VPP suspension linkage, incredibly neat internal cable routing and the Shimano Step E8000 motor, you end up with an outstanding set up, straight out the box.

Shock: RockShox Super Deluxe Select Ultimate
Motor System: Shimano Step E8000 with a 504Wh Integrated battery and Shimano E7000 Mode Switch
Wheels: Santa Cruz Reserve 30 27.5" Carbon Rims built onto DT Swiss 350 Hubs. The rear rim is the DH version for extra strength. 
Seatpost: Rockshox Reverb Stealth, 1X Lever, MatchMaker, 31.6 and 150mm drop. 
Drivetrain: SRAM XO1 Eagle with Shimano M8050 Hollowtech Crank arms
Brakes: SRAM Code RSC’s with Avid Centreline 200mm Rotors
Cockpit: Santa Cruz Di2 compatible carbon bars with 25mm rise and a Race Face Aeffect R 50mm stem.
Tyres: Maxxis Minion DHR II, 27.5x2.6 EXO+ TR
