We’re excited to announce that we’re now offering the world renowned Five Ten mountain bike shoes from our little shop on Innerleithen’s bustling high street at the heart of the Tweed Valley’s iconic trails. At Tweed Valley Bikes, stocking products we truly believe in and use ourselves has always been at the heart of our range, and Five Ten certainly fits the bill with that ethos.
Our Dirt School coaches have had the opportunity to test numerous flat pedal shoes over the years, and have always quickly been steered back towards Five Ten. The grip offered by their stealth rubber is market leading, giving you confidence that your feet will stay glued to your pedals no matter what, allowing you to focus on the trail ahead. As rider’s who spend our days working on the trails, it’s incredibly important to us that all the products we use are hard wearing, function well and leave us feeling confident as we demo that steep awkward corner, or tricky gap.
We’re proud to introduce a curated selection from Five Ten’s range, based on our experience using each shoe and what we believe works best for each different riding style.
The all time classic Freerider that’s been around for many years now will be stocked in the newer Canvas option, meaning the yarn on the upper part of the shoe is made up from 50% parley ocean plastic and 50% recycled polyester in a bid to end plastic waste. This is definitely something we can get on board with.
We’ll also be introducing the Trailcross LT this spring, which merges Five Ten’s legendary Stealth rubber and pedal feel with a more versatile shoe. The Trailcross LT is fairly new to the market, offering a highly breathable and quick drying design, giving you comfort on and off the bike. Paired with a more flexible midsole than the harder hitting shoes in the range, the TrailCross LT’s are ideal for those big mountainous hike-a-bikes, without compromising grip on the pedals when you’re on the way back down.
Additionally, the popular Freerider Pro will feature in our range with options for women and kids too, complete with the Hellcat Pro for those who prefer riding clipless.
We’re super excited to be able to offer such a high quality range of mountain bike shoes, fitting perfectly in line with the products we love to use ourselves. Often copied, never duplicated, the Stealth rubber at the heart of Five Ten shoes is the reason you see almost no other flat pedal shoes out on the trails and is in a class of its own in terms of pedal feel and traction.
Check out our range here, and pop into the shop if you’re riding over the weekend to try some on for size!
