Introducing Ibis Cycles to Innerleithen!

As the long summer nights are in full swing and the riding is better than ever in the Tweed Valley there couldn’t be a better time to welcome an exciting new brand to our portfolio - Ibis Cycles!
As a team of passionate riders who always aim to deliver the best advice and products at the right price points, Ibis naturally fits in well with our ethos. Ibis focus on what matters most - their carbon frames are all built to the highest standard, prioritising strength, weight and stiffness and are optimised for the best riding performance. The frames are then built up with high end suspension, matched with more affordable components that are easy to upgrade at a later date, keeping the bikes affordable and giving you the best value for money.
Ibis were one of the first brands to really step into the “modern” geometry we see now with a steeper seat tube, longer wheelbase and slacker head angle, meaning they pedal incredibly efficiently but can handle anything thrown at them when they turn back downhill too. The shorter seat tubes and lower stand over heights let you choose your size based on your reach preference and riding style, offering more flexibility for riders.
The DW Linkage system gives the bikes a plush and progressive suspension ramp, i.e. the beginning of the stroke remains supple and gives you the best traction available without diving deep into the travel, or bottoming out on harsh landings or under heavy braking, making these bikes certainly worth considering.
It’s not just about their carbon bikes though - Ibis have also put a phenomenal amount of time and effort into their AF (aluminium frame) range, recognising that there are lots of riders out there who prefer to ride an aluminium bike. The new Ripley AF, for example, is a stunning bike, well sought after and gets great reviews, being the “Pinkbike Editors Choice” for 2021.
The first models to arrive with us are the Ripmo V2 and Ripmo AF, and are absolutely perfect for riding in the Tweed Valley, being great all rounders for the varied trails on offer here. With 147mm rear travel matched with a longer 160mm fork up front and 29” wheels, the Ripmo is designed to soak up all the roughness the Golfie throws at it, whilst still being heaps of fun to ride around the trail centres on the days you’re looking for something a little more chilled.
If you’re interested in giving an Ibis a try we’ll have demos available in the near future and have bikes in stock ready to view now. Give us a call on 01896 831429 or pop in and see us to find out more…
