What's New On The Santa Cruz Hightower 2021
Here at Dirt School and Tweed Valley Guides we’ve been big fans of the Santa Cruz Hightower since the first generation appeared in 2016 - our coaches Janey and Andy have spent many hours riding these incredible bikes over the last few years.
For 2021, the Hightower comes in two amazing colours, the stealthy smoke grey and ivory or the eye-catching ember carbon. The bike remains largely unchanged from the popular 2020 model, however, the eagle eyed amongst you will have noticed some subtle changes to the spec. We aim to offer the Hightower C S for demo in our fleet in August, so here is a quick rundown of what has changed for 2021.
Firstly the 2021 Santa Cruz bikes are fitted with the new SRAM drivetrain which offers the 52 tooth sprocket on the rear cassette, allowing you to tackle even the toughest Tweed Valley climbs with a little more ease.
SRAM guide brakes are still providing the stopping power, but in addition to this, Santa Cruz have improved the front tyre choice and now offer Maxxis Minion DHR in the Maxxgrip compound. This makes a huge difference for riders seeking more traction and is a welcome change, as this tends to be one of the first upgrades riders make when buying a new bike.
Also new for 2021 is a slight increase in travel to 145mm by utilising a different length of rear shock. Combining this with the Fox 36 at 150mm of travel, this bike becomes a very capable tool for all types of trails, whether riding the red trail at Glentress or tackling some of the stages used by the Enduro World Series at the Golfie.
The Hightower range starts at £2999 boasting an alloy frame and a dropper seat post which is incredible. Carbon bikes start the C R model at £4299. Regardless of spec option, all Santa Cruz bikes come with a lifetime warranty on the frame and bearings.
These bikes are arriving with us for demo in August with a size run from small to extra large. Please feel free to email us for any more details or to put your name down on the waiting list to experience this insane bike for yourself.
