The New Orange Switch 7 is Here!

The New Orange Switch 7 is Here!

Painstakingly designed to be the fastest and most capable Enduro bike they have ever produced, Orange have rewritten their own rule book and built a linkage bike to rival anything out there, all while preserving the best characteristics of the ultra refined chassis they have been quietly tuning for decades. The Orange Switch 7 is here and looks set to define a new direction for the brand.

Taking its name from the ever popular, fun to ride Switch 6 model, but upscaling everything to go bigger, harder and faster, there’s no doubt what this machine is made for with its 170mm travel and MX wheel setup. The trunnion shock is mounted low on the frame to help lower the bikes centre of gravity and allow for a more normal weight distribution when riding. It runs on bearings instead of bushings, coupled to the “power link” to isolate it from cornering forces; the plushness needs to be tried to be believed. The link also does a neat job of tuning the suspension action to make the shock incredibly supple off the top of the stroke, but equally gives you plenty of support before bottoming out - at over 30% progression, the harder you ride this bike, the better it’s going to perform.

The Orange Switch 7 geometry is quite simply cutting edge. With a 63’ head angle, it’s as slack as you like, but the steep 76’ seat tube angle ensures it climbs amazingly well - no more hunching over the stem to winch up the steeper sections, and, the slightly longer chainstays provide incredible stability when you point it back downhill again.

To handle the worst of the British weather, most of the bearings are tucked away from the elements inside the swingarm, keeping them as protected as they can be. You can wash the Orange Switch 7 with peace of mind, knowing that you’re on an all round package built to ride anywhere as hard as you can and come back month after month for more.

Still completely built and manufactured in the UK with the quality and support that established them as one of Britain's most loved bike brands, the Orange Switch 7 breaks new ground for the craftsmen from Halifax. Lighter than many carbon bikes and with carefully tuned compliance for better tracking and less fatigue in rough terrain there is a special ride to an Orange frameset. Add to that options for factory servicing and re-sprays and you have a bike that’s in it for the long haul.

The first model to launch is the Switch 7 SE in British Racing Green and it certainly looks the part. The Ohlins suspension package, paired with Hope wheelset and cranks along with a Burgtec cockpit, the SE looks less like a stock bike and more like one of our custom builds. And, it even carries a water bottle! You can check out the full spec here.

If you want to be one of the first in the country to see the new Orange Switch 7 in the flesh, pop into store and check it out. Demo coming soon too...
