Tweed Valley Bikes welcomes Fox Racing to the range!

Fox Racing will be a brand unknown to almost no-one in the UK mountain bike scene, but there might be some who don’t know just how far back their history goes. 

First founded in 1974 by Geoff Fox, they originally started out as a component manufacturer for Motocross race bikes making parts in their home in California. With a solid roster of riders on board, they also started to produce their own team apparel, which was so functionally good and well received, that over time they gradually found their business switching to the production of riding and racing clothing. 

By the mid 90’s they had become involved in mountain biking as the gravity and freeride side of the sport began to grow, making both clothing and armour for the new and quickly evolving cycling scene. It’s good to get that historical perspective, as while many might think of Fox as a modern and fashionable clothing brand, they’ve been producing and designing quality mountain bike gear for well over 25 years at this point with more development time and experience than perhaps any other clothing company in the game. 

While their original products may have had a purely gravity focus, they now produce riding apparel for everything from XC riding to DH racing and have grown into one of the biggest and best known brands in the sport sponsoring riders across a variety of disciplines with developing riders and all time legends alike such as Tahnee Seagrave, Jackson Goldstone, Steve Peat, Laurie Greenland and Brage Vestavik all riding and racing in their kit.

The product range these days is as comprehensive as you could imagine. Alongside their very well regarded clothing, they also produce a range of excellent riding eyewear, some of the best body armour and helmets on the market and a selection of bags and accessories. 

When it comes to their clothing, Fox now caters for virtually every eventuality you could imagine. They have an excellent range of casual garments for hanging out off the bike, and alongside that a huge amount of variety when it comes to quality ridewear.

If you’re looking for simple and good value pieces, then you’ll find those in their Ranger line which is designed to provide well tailored garments for daily use without breaking the bank. Elsewhere, their Defend and Flexair collections are both put together with a no-compromises approach using the very best fabrics available to maximise performance. The Defend line focuses on making super durable garments, built either to block cold and wet weather or for the harshest use cases, while the Flexair line of garments prioritise lightness and airflow for those chasing pedalling performance or breathability.
