Ono of the lightest ExN certified level 2 and Type B kneepads out there, the Aura Core manages to combine a minimalist low profile and flexible design with an impressive level of coverage and protection. Extra side protection, a longer cut and an extra grip strap provides even more security than the regular Aura with a minimum of extra bulk.
An extra wide patterned top gripper securely holds the pad in place and the cleverly patterned SAS-Tec Insert allows a full range of motion without restriction. At the rear of the pad, a seamless mesh provides maximum breathability so that you can use them even on the warmest days.
After some real world feedback? A number of our staff ride the Aura Core and Neil & Tom did a write up of their thoughts on them for the blog.

FAQ
Can I wash these pads?
Yes, they're fine to machine wash. The inserts need to be removed before washing but that's easily done through a port in the internal sleeve.
What does Cat 2 and Type B mean?
There's a CE test for protection where a weight is dropped against the pad with a sensor underneath. For a pad to get Category 1 certification, it needs to transmit less than 35Nm through, while for Category 2 it needs to transmit 20Nm or less.
Type A pads only cover the joint they are meant to protect, while Type B have to extend around the target joint in all directions.
Do these stretch over time?
Yes, but only slightly. In general it's better to have the fit of a brand new set to be just slightly snug to allow for some give over time.
