A true 'do it all' E-Bike the brand new Nukeproof Kilowatt uses the 4 bar suspension layout that they have been gradually refining for a decade now to deliver 150mm of perfectly balanced rear travel. With geometry based around the much loved Mega and a 160mm fork out front, the Kilowatt is easily enough bike to take on just about any trail in the UK, without being a chore to ride when the terrain mellows. At around 22kg, it's also exceptionally light for an 800W battery bike giving it a degree of liveliness that's often lacking in high capacity bikes.
Drive comes from what seems to be THE motor to have right now, the Avinox M2S, which pumps out a whopping max 120Nm of torque and 1300W of continuous power, with even more available from the 60 second Boost mode. Despite all the power the motor only weighs 2.6kg and is packed into a small form factor, keeping a clean look to the bike. Fully user tuneable via a simple app, it can deliver anything from long range low power rides to super fast power hours or the ability to ride up previously impossible climbs. Backing up that motor is an integrated 800W battery to deliver either long days out, or let you tap into the power on offer when you need it. For those looking to ride truly massive days, the supplied 12A fast charger will push 80% charge back in just over an hour meaning minimal downtime between rides.
Integration is another areas where Avinox have pushed things forward. With the power system able to track rides, link to your GPS or action camera, set their assistance based on heart rate and handle gear changes while coasting, the overall functionality is unmatched in the marketplace right now.
