A bike that can bend its hand to almost anything, the Santa Cruz Tallboy V5 takes 120mm of VPP travel and marries it to a set of angles which wouldn't be out of place on a proper enduro bike. That mix makes for a little rocketship of a bike, able to be ridden both far harder and further than you might imagine.
Almost the perfect bike for UK trail centres, if you've never ridden a good short travel platform you'll be shocked how they transform lower angle descents into flat out, fun to ride tracks, carrying speed in a way no Enduro bike can rival. Our staff and customers have used them for everything from trail centre hits, to a full lap of the Golfie trails, 200km+ XC days and Tweed Valley Everest rides.
The CC XO spec is close to the ultimate version of the bike, combining a full Fox Factory suspension package with a SRAM XO groupset and a i9 / RaceFace Arc wheelset to create a light, durable and beautifully performing package.

FAQ
Can I over-fork a Tallboy to make it even more trail capable?
Yes, if you want. Santa Cruz OK the frame for up to 140mm forks, though we find the 130mm fork supplied stock to be a perfect balance for the bike.
What does the Tallboy weigh as a full build?
We've had or built bikes on the scales in the shop and in stock form the Medium CC bike is 13.3kg
Am I limited on tire or rotor sizes?
Not especially! The Tallboy has plenty of room for 2.5' rear tires and you can go as big as 220mm on the rotors if you want to.
What kind of riding is this bike best for?
It can do a lot! Singletrack and long rides are it's perfect home, the combination of low weight, fast tires, pedal efficiency and good geometry make for a comfortable, easy to bike to ride and one that eats miles almost as easily as a true XC bike. Technical natural trail works well too, but 120mm travel does have its limits and bikepark type riding, braking bumps and blown out enduro ground is much more demanding than it would be with more suspension.
