We are very excited to welcome our newest coach, Gregor Nixon to our coaching team at Dirt School! As a BASE course graduate who excelled in all areas of the programme during his time with us, he joins us with a wealth of first hand experience of the course and will be a great role model for our students.
After studying at BASE between 2016 and 2019, Gregor went on to pursue a degree in physiotherapy at Queen Margaret University, whilst coaching part time around the Central Belt on weekends. Throughout his years in education, Gregor has always been a passionate mountain biker, whether racing enduro, simply riding for fun or enjoying helping young riders improve their skills. His work ethic, maturity and great communication skills are an asset and we’re very pleased to have him on board.
Gregor said “I’m super excited to be joining the team at Dirt School! Having gone through the BASE programme a few years ago, it feels good to be going back and meeting a new wave of students and pass on some of the knowledge and experiences I’ve learnt throughout my time at BASE, racing personally or studying at University. I always admired the ethos of Dirt School while I was on the course and I can’t wait to be part of the team. It’s looking like we’re going to have a busy summer so I can’t wait to get going!”
With restrictions looking like they’re due to lift in the not too distant future, you’ll see Gregor out on the trails delivering our Day Courses, Kids Academy Programme, guided rides for Tweed Valley Guides this summer, and of course working alongside our wider coaching team on our BASE college course.
