Nukeproof's Megawatt gets updated for 2023

Nukeproof Megawatt Factory

Nukeproof hit the ground running with the launch of their first e-bike, the Megawatt, in 2021. Winning Bikeradar’s e-bike of the year the following year in 2022, the Megawatt impresses with its fantastic geometry and rear suspension, giving the bike a good balance between fun and stability on trail that’s hard to beat.

For 2023, Nukeproof have updated the Megawatt with new colours and specs all round, along with some subtle design tweaks.

The headline change for 2023 is the move to SRAM T-Type Transmissions with its hangerless interface. The RS, Factory and Elite models all move across to SRAM’s new groupsets. RS models will use a combination of XX & X0 Transmission components, Factory models receive X0 & GX Transmission while Elite makes use of a full GX T-Type groupset. Megawatt Comp models will be specified with the durable Microshift Advent-X drivetrain.

Shimano’s updated EP801 motor will be specified on all new Megawatt models. 85Nm of torque and customisable user profiles power the Megawatt to the top of the next trail. The 630Wh battery specced on RS, Factory and Elite models and 504Wh battery on Comp models both give plenty of range and are easily swapped for extra long days in the saddle. All Megawatt riders can choose between running the higher capacity 630Wh battery or the slightly lighter weight 504Wh unit thanks to the adjustable battery mount system that comes on each Megawatt model.

On stopping duties, SRAM Code RSCs remain on the RS model with the Factory model receiving the much lauded Hayes Dominion A4. Elite and Comp level bikes are both equipped with SRAM DB8 brakes.

The award winning geometry and suspension kinematics are carried over onto the new Megawatt but the new models have done away with headset routed cables in favour of the much simpler downtube ported internal routing.

These bikes are a huge hit here in the Tweed Valley. Their confident ride on technical terrain makes them an easy choice for riders looking for a no holds barred e-bike to take on the classic Innerleithen and Golfie trails.

We currently have a Large Factory and XL RS bike due to arrive on Thursday 13th July with more to follow in the following weeks. Get in touch for stock availability and due dates.
